Micro memoirs (300 words or less) are growing in popularity and offer an opportunity for more, not less. You’ll learn how this short but versatile form can help you shine a light on your lived experiences, with tips on how to begin writing micro right away. You’ll learn how to incorporate your work into a full-length memoir or creative nonfiction project while studying examples from bestselling memoirists who have mastered this highly effective storytelling form. If you’ve been struggling with telling your story or are curious about new and innovative forms, this is a great time to add micro memoirs to your writer’s toolbox.

6/6 Women’s Creative Writing Workshop

with Stephanie Han. June 6-27 2024, Thursdays from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm PDT (4 weeks). Zoom Workshop. $432. Sign up here.

The Women’s Creative Writing Workshop is a mixed level two-hour generative writing workshop. Published authors, journalists, and creative writers attend this class. It works because I emphasize voice and because women are willing to dig in and support women to be brave on the page. This is designed for women to express their emotional truth (writing fact or fiction) and to further their voices. This class addresses craft skills and creative process of narrative across fiction, memoir, and creative non-fiction. You will leave class with improved writing skills and a clear understanding of your writing strengths, process, and literary interests.
